There are 7 student visa categories to choose from, English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS), Vocational education and training, Higher education, Postgraduate research, Non-award, AusAID and Defence, and Student Guardians.
Students who complete a course of study in Australia may apply for Australian permanent residency under the Skilled Migration Program.
